Arduino







Arduino is the name for an open computer and software platform that allows designers and constructors to create devices that enable the connection of computers with the physical world, ie. creating the internet of things.


The Arduino was created by Italian company SmartProjects in 2005 using Atmel AVR 8-bit microcontrollers, to create a simple, small and inexpensive platform that could more easily connect computers to the physical world. The designers chose the name Arduino after the cafe where they met when they created the project.
