Product Features

  • Premium Kapton polyimide tape for 3D printing
  • High temperature, ideal for plastic filaments that require heating of the construction bed (eg ABS)
  • 3D printing is very good, especially in the case of high heat, it can be cleanly released while cooling
  • Durability for multiple print cycles without the need to change tape
  • Long 9 inches, long 100 feet long tape
  • product description
  • Kapton tape is the   attachment to cover your build platform during 3D printing. Kapton tape is made of a 1 mil thick polyimide film sheet. The tape also has a 1 mil thick silicone adhesive layer. Kapton tape is widely used because of its ability to withstand the heating and cooling of building platforms. Some plastics, such as ABS filaments, are particularly suitable for Kapton tapes so they can be used when it is necessary to heat the build platform. ABS filaments will have full adhesion to Kapton tape at the required high build plate temperatures, but it will also release the printed portion as the bed cools. Printing will easily peel or instantly eject the actual selection of any 3D printer build panels that make Kapton tape.
  • Size: 9 inches wide and 100 feet long
  • 1 mil thick Kapton layer
  • 1 mil thick silicone adhesive layer
  • The total thickness is 2 mils
  • Dry application
  • Dry methods include using a straight edge, such as a ruler or credit card, to slowly strip and apply tape, while using straight edges to keep the tape free of bubbles.

Wet application

The wet method is similar to the dry method, but spray some soapy water under the Kapton tape. Remove the liquid with a squeegee or a straight straight edge (such as a ruler). This will also eliminate any bubbles. The biggest benefit of wetting is that you can reposition the tape when it is wet, because the liquid allows the tape to slide easily. Kapton tape to fully dry before printing."
